This lesson was written by Jille in the Dutch version from PSP13 on Jully, the 27th, 2010. I followed my own ideas, any resemblance with an existing lesson is merely a coincidence.
This lesson can be made in others versions as well

Minimize the font
Open PSP
Open the tubes and mask in the program
Material Palette
Light color #dcf4ee
= foreground color and black = background color
Change Foreground material into Foreground - background gradient
The lesson

File - New - New Image - Background color - transparant checked

- Flood fill with the gradient
- Effects - Texture effects - Straw Wall
- Material foreground - change to solid color
- Layers - New Raster layer
- Flood fill with foreground color
- Effects - Texture effects - Texture
- The mask masque94

has to be present on the workspace, but your own image has to be active
- Layers - New Mask layer - From Image
- Layers - Merge - Merge group
Close the mask
- Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow
- Open tube calguismist489.pspimage
- Edit - Copy and close
- Layers - New Raster layer
- Selections - Load/save selection - Load selection from disk
- Edit - Paste into Selection
- Layer palette - Opacity = 65
- Selections - Deselect all
Result
- Open tube kittys-inkttatoo.pspimage
- Tube layer has to be active
Edit - Copy and close
- Edit - Paste as new layer
- Image - Resize
- Move tool - move see print screen
- On this layer : Selection tool - Custom selection
- Layer palette - Promote selection to layer
- Layer palette - Make original layer active and click delete on your keyboard
- Make top layer active again
Layer palette - opacity 34 and blend mode = difference

- Selections - Load/save selection - Load selection from disk and load
- Edit - Copy special - Copy merged
- Edit - Paste into selection

You may want to use the filter optikVerve Labs -Virtual Photographer and try 1 of the effects, I used Snap
You may create beautiful effects with this plugin.
